The Czech government announced in early August 2019 that they will be opening up the bid process for a new jet to add to their fleet officially in September of this year.
The details for the acquisition were listed as follows:
- 6 years old or newer
- Under $25million USD
- Range of 6000 kilometers
Marian Jancarik, Colibri’s Sales Director in Central and Eastern Europe, was interviewed by Ceska Televize, a leading news outlet in the Czech Republic, to give his expert opinion on the announcement and whether or not a jet meeting these parameters was realistic.
Marian attested that there were multiple jets that would meet the requirements of the Czech government and they could look at almost any of the traditional OEMs and find something including Gulfstream, Embraer, Dassault and Bombardier. He also mentioned that pre-owned jets would be an option for the government and they have many options in this space.
It will be interesting to hear the official announcement of the tender in September and await who wins the bid. The Czech government currently owns two Airbus ACJ319 and one Challenger 601-3A.
