The Easiest Interior Changes to Make for a Quick Cabin Refresh

Interior changes to an aircraft often require substantial paperwork, down-time and cost. There are two projects we recommend when your interior needs to be freshened up but you do not want a more intense and expensive remodel.

Re-Dye Seats

Painting the seat leather, or “connolizing” as it is called in the UK, means to add dye back to the interior leather. It will give the seats a quick update and make a world of difference to the look and feel of the interior at a fraction of the cost of doing entirely new leather. Minimal documentation is needed for this work.

Carpet Change

Changing out the carpet is one of the lowest cost, but most impactful interior changes you can make. Fitting and installing the new carpet into your aircraft only takes a few days thus requiring minimal downtime. The ordering of carpet will take the longest time, but you can continue to fly during that time as long as you have not removed the old carpet.

For small to mid-sized cabin aircraft, the cost for carpet is around $10,000 – $15,0000. Larger cabins are usually around $35,000 – $40,000.

These two interior changes will give new life to your interior without too much expense. We would definitely recommend doing one or both of these tasks when you first purchase the aircraft if you do not plan on doing larger interior changes.
